Debbie Allen, Magic
Johnson, headline Showplace Television's Fall 2010 lineup
(December 20, 2009) Showplace Television Syndication (www.showplaceonline.com)
has announced three new and three returning popular E/I series for Fall
2010. Headline-making producers include legendary sports icon Magic
Johnson and multi-award winning actress-director Debbie Allen.
My Parents, My Sister & Me stars Jasmine Guy ("A Different World's"
Whitley Gilbert) and is produced by award-winning "Fame" actress,
director and choreographer Debbie Allen. The first-run, half-hour,
situational comedy targets teens and looks at the humorous side of
today's mixed blended family life. "With such a talented production
team, My Parents, My Sister & Me is destined to be an original runaway
hit in wide syndication," said Hal Pontious, President and CEO of
Showplace Television Syndication.
A Project with Magic Johnson (working title) stars the five-time NBA
Championship legend and many of his famous friends including Kareem
Abdul-Jabbar and Kenny "The Jet" Smith. The half-hour first-run series
features tips for teens on how to improve their athletic abilities in
sports such as basketball, baseball, football, soccer, hockey and
tennis. "Group buyers love this show, and we've already cleared 30
percent of the country," said Pontious.
The Kids Block is Showplace's newest first-run series for three- to
five-year-old tykes. It's a half-hour of singing and dancing fun with an
ethnically and culturally diverse cast of kids and puppets who hang out
in their courtyard on the block. By incorporating authentic pop music,
learning becomes an exciting experience.
Showplace Television Syndication's E/I programming returning in Fall
2010 include Aqua Kids, bInTune TV, and Zodiac Island. Also returning
are lifestyle series Garden Travels, Xtreme Tourist, Healthcare Heroes
and Tech Closeup. The entire Showplace Television Syndication Fall 2010
lineup will be featured at Zephyr Media Group, Booth #628, NATPE 2010,
January 25-27 in Las Vegas.
Showplace Television Syndication was founded in Chicago in 1992 under
the banner Showplace Broadcasting by President and CEO Hal Pontious.
Under Pontious' leadership, Showplace has become synonymous with quality
programming for world wide television syndication and distribution.
Showplace is known for revenue generating series such as Healthcare
Heroes [aka: NurseTV], Garden Travels, Tech CloseUp and Xtreme Tourist.
