TV Ratings for Week of Dec. 5 - 11
'Sunday Night Football' nearly doubles black audience over previous week
(December 15, 2011) "Sunday Night Football" is always a big draw for NBC
when it comes to black households, but the match-up between the NY
Giants and the Dallas Cowboys ensured that a big market game would deliver
exceptional ratings. Only one of the five NBC programs on the Top 25
chart wasn't NFL-related.
CBS was the most watched TV network of the week with 16.3 million tuning
in 12 of its shows. NBC claimed second place with 11.2 million for five
of its programs. Fox settled for third with just eight million across
five shows.
The total number of black viewers tuning in the Top 25, according to
Nielsen, was down 12 percent from the previous week to 38.9 million.
