Burrell
announces newly hired staff members throughout agency
(December
5, 2005) Chicago-based Burrell Communications has announced a number of
newly hired and promoted staffers throughout the agency. These
appointments come in the wake of new accounts, such as NitroMed and
Allstate, and growth in others such as Verizon and McDonalds.
Daniel Berkal has been hired as the Account Planner on the McDonalds and
Allstate accounts. He was most recently the Director of Marketing for the
"Gunther Von Hagen's Body Worlds" exhibition in Toronto, Canada.
Michael Tresvant has joined Burrell as an Associate Media Director. He
previously worked at GM Planworks as a media supervisor.
Winston Cheung has been named by Burrell Communications as an Art
Director. He previously worked at Euro RSCG Tatham Partners as an Art
Director.
Nashonna Griffin has been hired as a Senior Account Executive on the
Verizon account. She had previously been an Account Executive at A. Eicoff.
Sayetta Redmond-Reid has been appointed Senior Account Executive on the
Verizon account. She is a former Account Executive for Court TV Chicago.
Kamal Collins has been appointed Junior Art Director. He is a Miami
AdSchool graduate.
Chernese Matthews has been hired as an Account Coordinator. She was
previously an Executive Assistant at Virchow, Krause and Company.
Dawn Jackson Hicks has been hired as a Client Business Manager. She was
previously a Client Accounting and Operations Coordinator at Campbell
Mithun.
Peter Dusenberry has been hired as a Senior Copywriter. He was previously
a Copywriter at Halia Partners.
Angelique Smith has been hired as an Assistant Account Executive on the
Verizon account. She was previously an Account Executive at Euro
RSCGImpact.
Jamila Carrington Smith has been hired as an Account Director on the
Procter and Gamble account. She was previously an Account Director at
Integrated Marketing Services.
Darrell Copeland Graham has been hired as a Talent Payment Manager. She
was previously a Broadcast Business Manager at Ogilvy and Mather.

'Buying Power' report shows black consumers spending more on home life
As the American economy continues to move sluggishly,
African-American households are curtailing their spending in many
categories, including food, clothing and basic household items, while
investing more in home repair, home entertainment and consumer
electronics. Although they are trimming back, black consumers are still
spending more than their white counterparts on most of these products.

report, African-American households are tightening their belts when it
