Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of Nov. 23 -29
Soul Train Awards gives BET No.1 cable show and network of the week (December
3, 2009) Black Entertainment Television's highly touted revival of the
Soul Train Music Awards netted the channel its highest fourth quarter
rating ever. The four million viewers that tuned in (3.86 million of
which were black) helped BET beat out the perennial favorites on TBS and
Monday Night Football.
BET rode its awards special to the title of the week's most watched
cable network in black households. It posted a total of 9.3 million
viewers for six programs. TBS followed with 8.6 million viewers for six
shows. USA also had six shows on the Top 25 that attracted 3.6 million
watchers.
The total number of viewers watching the Top 25 during the last week of
November, according to Nielsen, was up 8.5 percent to 31.1. million.
