Starz InBlack adds sizzle to Friday nights with debut of 'B Side' Dec. 9th

(December 1, 2005) Starz InBlack heats up Friday nights with its new late-night original show, "B Side" featuring a spicy mix of risque original shorts, uncensored music videos, provocative animation and edgy comedy. "B Side" premieres exclusively on Starz InBlack at 10:30 p.m. (ET/PT) Friday, December 9 and can be seen every Friday night following.

"'B Side' explores the other side of common life," said Kelly Bumann, vice president, brand strategy, Starz Entertainment Group LLC (SEG). "This show pushes the edge; it's unconventional, daring and funny. From the revealing profiles with celebrities and features that focus on life issues that people think about -- but don't always dare to talk about -- to the uncensored music videos, and edgy animated shorts, 'B Side' presents a unique mix of urban entertainment.".

"We've had a lot of fun producing the features for 'B Side,'" said Che Che Mata, senior vice president, creative services, SEG. "This show is an expose on society. It explores everyday life, politics and social issues. With its eclectic mix of content, you don't know what you're going to get next. 'B Side' showcases the other side -- not the underside -- of life. It's going to surprise you and it might shock you. Our viewers are going to see content they never expected to see. You'll want to make 'B Side' your late night sweet spot."

Adding more flava to the not-so-ordinary show, is the show's smooth-talking host, "B." "B" is an animated character that adds more spice and personality.

"'B' is tough, but has a heart of gold," said Mata. "He has just the right persona to guide viewers through this fast-moving collection of non-stop crazy entertainment."

Starz Entertainment Group is one of the largest provider of premium movie services in the United States with approximately 181 million pay units. SEG is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation.

According to the newest edition of “The Buying Power of Black America” report, African-American households are tightening their belts when it comes to dining out, expanding their wardrobes, and leisure activities out of the home. At the same time, they are increasing their spending on home repairs and remodeling, audio and...
