Cable TV Ratings for Week of Nov. 12 - 18
Black viewers still love ‘New York’; BET repeats as cable’s No.1 network

(November 23, 2007) VH1’s “I Love New York” captured the hearts of black cable viewers again to make it the No.1 show on the top 25 for the second week in a row. During the second full week in November, the reality favorite claimed 1.8 million black viewers. [The top cable show in white households was ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.]

BET also repeated its previous week’s performance as the top cable network with six programs posting on the top 25. TBS, USA and VH1 all tied for second with four shows each.

The total number of black viewers watching the top 25 cable shows was 28.9 million. That represents a 43 percent increase over the previous week’s total of 20.3 million.

[Note: Beginning this week we are listing the audience totals by individual viewers age two and older instead of by households. This information is provided by Nielsen and allows for easier comparisons with other published Nielsen data.]
