TV One to air
special with R&B artist John Legend backed by Baileys Irish Cream
(November
16, 2007) The hour-long special will feature concert performances,
exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, and candid interviews with
multi-platinum selling, five-time Grammy award-winner John Legend along
with artists from his new label Homeschool Records, including U.K.
breakout hip hop star Estelle, vaudeville-style performers The James Gang
and R&B vocalist Vaughn Anthony. The special debuts on the TV One cable
network December 16 at 9 PM ET, repeating at midnight.
The concert performances for the special were filmed in New York on
November 9, during one of several stops on this fall’s Baileys Get
Together Tour with John Legend and Friends.
‘We had a very successful tour with Baileys last year,’ Legend said. ‘I’m
looking forward to getting together again with my fans and introducing
them to some incredible new artists this time around on the upcoming
television special on TV One.’
‘Baileys is proud of its affiliation with John Legend, a true star whose
music and attitude is the perfect match for our brand and synonymous with
the Baileys experience,’ said Yvonne Briese, Marketing Director, Baileys.
‘As we expand the footprint of Baileys Get Together through the launch of
the TV One documentary, we also help John to introduce exciting new
artists from his Homeschool Records label.’
During the TV broadcast, viewers will have a front-row seat for the
concert, and get up close and personal with Legend as cameras roll behind
the scenes. Legend brings his musical family together in the studio, at
the label and on stage and viewers will see Legend from a new perspective,
as the label owner committed to developing gifted new talent.
The December 16th debut comes on the heels of the highly successful
two-part fall concert series, Baileys Get Together Tour with Jill Scott
and Baileys Get Together Tour with John Legend and Friends. The Baileys
Get Together Tour with Jill Scott, the multi-platinum-selling, Grammy
award-winning, neo-soul sensation and actress, played to full houses in
Houston, Ft. Lauderdale, Atlanta, Charlotte, Baltimore, and Philadelphia
in October and early November.
The Baileys Get Together Tour with John Legend and Friends wrapped up last
night in Detroit (November 14), after visiting Boston (November 7), New
York (November 9), Chicago (November 11), and Minneapolis (November 12).
At these shows, Legend performed his own songs and proudly showcased his
new artists Estelle, Vaughn Anthony and The James Gang.
At each Baileys Get Together concert tour (where legal), consumers age 21
and older enjoyed the smooth sounds of the DJ, and had their picture taken
with friends before taking in the evening’s Performance by Legend,
Estelle, Vaughn Anthony and The James Gang.
Baileys Entertainment Presents Get Together’ with John Legend will repeat
on TV One on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 9 AM, Thursday, Dec. 20 at 10 PM & 1 AM,
