Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of November 2 - 8
NFL, TBS return to the top of the cable chart
after steady rise of BET (November
11, 2009) TBS resumed its reign over the cable viewing habits of black
households after falling to BET rise on the programming charts. Without
BET's airing of The Game or awards show, Tyler Perry's comedies
prevailed right behind perennial favorite, ESPN's Monday Night Football.
TBS was the week's most watched cable network, with 11.2 million black
viewers for seven of its shows on the Top 25. BET followed in second
with 4.4 million viewers for five of its shows -- less than half its
audience last week. USA was third with 3.7 million tuning in four of its
shows.
The total number of viewers watching the Top 25 favorite cable shows in
black households, as rated by Nielsen, dropped 10 percent from last week
to 30 million.
