Cable TV Ratings for Week of Oct. 29 – Nov. 4
ESPN repeats football success; BET is the week’s top cable network

(November 7, 2007) Except for the NFL and WWE, black and white cable viewers had nothing in common last week. Black households were 13.5 percent of the total audience watching the match-up between the Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos. VH1 scored with “I Love New York” repeating its second place status for the second consecutive week, which served as the lead-in for the No.3 show, “The Salt N Pepa Show.”

BET had the most shows on the top 25 most popular cable programs for the week with six entries. “Keisha Cole’s” show led the way at No. 6. TBS and VH1 both had four winners, followed by TNT and USA with three each. ESPN and MTV posted two.

The total number of black households watching the top 25, according to Nielsen Media Research was 20.2 million, or an increase of nearly ten percent over the previous week’s total.
