Cable TV Ratings for Week of October 20 - 26
BET's 'Hip Hop Awards' trumps cable Top 25 with No.1 show and most watched network

(October 30, 2008) The third week of October was a big winner for BET, as the channel drew its largest audience of the year, thanks to the Hip Hop Awards. One-third of the audience BET claimed on the Top 25 came from American Gangster. CNN's debut of the controversial "D. L. Hughley Breaks The News" claimed 13th place on the list with 726,000 black viewers.

BET easily took the most watched cable network title with  nearly 10 million viewers for its Top 25 shows. TBS followed in second place with 5.3 million viewers. Disney totaled 3.3 million.

The total number of black viewers for the Top 25 cable shows, according to Nielsen Media Research, was 24.9 million.
