TV Ratings for Week of October 13 - 19
ABC's 'Dancing With The Stars' kicks football out of No.1; CBS is top network

(October 21, 2008) Football again failed to be the week's top drawing program with black viewers. ABC's "Dancing" lead the Top 25, and the CSI franchise repeated last week's performance with second and third place.

The only broadcast show related to the final Presidential debate to make the chart was ABC's post analysis. Cable channels CNN and MSNBC siphoned off millions of black viewers that tuned in (C-SPAN also claimed black debate watchers, though it is not tracked by ratings research company Nielsen).

CBS was the most watched network for the third week of October, drawing 16.4 million black viewers for its top 11 shows. ABC had 12.6 million viewers, followed by Fox with 3.4 million.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 shows, according to Nielsen Media Research, was down 6.7percent from the previous week to 36.6 million.
