Black TV Ratings for Week of October 5 - 11
Black viewers never grow weary of football, and NBC is grateful

(October 13, 2009) The Top 25 most popular shows in black households for the first full week of October show that African-Americans have decided what their likely preferences for broadcast prime time viewing are going to be. For the second consecutive week, NBC finished last among the big four networks in popularity. In fact, three of the four NBC shows on the chart are tied to the NFL's Colts vs Titans game on Sunday night. Once again, none of Jay Leno's nightly broadcasts registered on the Top 25 list.

CBS attracted 13.4 million black viewers to nine of its prime time shows. ABC was the week's second most watched network in black homes, pulling 7.1 million viewers for six Top 25 programs. Fox counted 6.9 million viewers for five shows.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 favorite shows in black homes, as cited by Nielsen, dropped 14 percent from the previous week to 35.7 million.
