NBC’s ‘Sunday Night Football’ returns to No.1; CBS remains week’s network
winner (October
9, 2007) The classic rivalry between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay
Packers delivered a victory for NBC’s Sunday night NFL match-up. More than
1.7 million black households tuned in to the game, giving it the No.1 spot
on the top 25 most popular shows, followed the CW’s “The Game” in second
place.
The top of the chart was packed with the usual favorites like “CSI,”
“Dancing with the Stars,” and “Girlfriends,” while new debuts like “Cane,”
“K-Ville” and “Bionic Woman” held on as well. CBS again took the most
watched network with 11 of the 25. ABC followed with five shows on the
list, NBC had four, the CW placed three and Fox had two.
The total number of households watching the top 25 during the first week
of October, according to Nielsen Media Research, was 30.9 million, or four
