TV Ratings for Week of September 29 - October 5
Sunday Night Football stays No.1, but loses audience for second straight week

(October 7, 2008) NBC's Sunday Night Football maintained its popularity with black viewers, though it continued to lose audience for the second consecutive week. From 3.1 million on Sept. 21, the NBC Sunday night ritual game was down to  2.3 million for the last Sunday in September. ABC's Vice-Presidential Debate analysis on Thursday made the top 25 by taking eighth place with 1.5 million viewers.

CBS was the most watched network for the first week of October, claiming 16.5 million viewers for its 10 shows on the Top 25. ABC followed with 9.1 million, while NBC notched 6.3 million.

The total number of viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research, for the Top 25 was 38.1 million, which is a 6.9% decline from the previous week’s total.
