Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of Sept. 27 - Oct. 2
TBS retakes the lead from Nickelodeon as the most viewed cable network

(October 6, 2010) Nickelodeon's tenure as king of the cable hill in black households turned out to be short lived. Without its ratings winner, ICarly, to boost its prime time numbers, TBS and Tyler Perry again dominated the Top 25. The impact of young black viewers tuning in their prime time favorites was still reflected on the chart with Disney and Nick programs.

TBS attracted 7.6 million viewers for five entries to take the top network spot. Disney followed with 4.8 million for five of its programs. Nickelodeon dropped back to third with 4.8 million watchers over seven shows.

There were 26.2 million viewers for the Top 25 most popular cable shows in black homes, according to Nielsen. That represents an increase of two percent over the previous week.
