Cable TV Ratings for Week of September 14 - 20 Football on ESPN
takes No.1 cable show; TBS remains most watched network
(September 24, 2009) Cable viewing in black households returned to old
favorites following a week of specials and season debuts. ESPN’s Monday
Night Football was back in the No.1 spot on the Top 25 list of most
popular cable shows. Second and third place were occupied by Meet the
Browns.
TBS held on to the title of most watched cable network for the week with
9.5 million viewers for six of its shows. BET was second in popularity
with 3.1 million for four shows. USA network pulled in 2.7 million for
three programs.
The total number of viewers for the Top 25 cable shows, as cited by
Nielsen data, dropped by 13.8 percent from the previous week to 26
million.
