TV Ratings for Week of September 15 - 21
Sunday Night Football reaches 3 million; CBS tightens its hold as top network

(September 23, 2008) NBC's Sunday Night Football again was the most popular show of the week in black households, topping just over 3 million viewers. In fact, NFL programming claimed three of the top five positions on the Top 25 chart.

CBS, led by second place winner 60 Minutes, boasted 14 shows on the chart, for a total of 16.5 million viewers from the Top 25 shows. NBC was a distant second most watched network with 7.5 million, followed by Fox which had 5.4 million.

The total number of viewers watching the Top 25, according to Nielsen Media Research, increased four percent over the previous week 32.8 million.
