Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of September 13 - 19
'Monday Night Football' barely takes No.1 spot of week's favorite cable shows

(September 22, 2010) For the start of the NFL season, ESPN's Monday Night Football just barely beat out TBS' Meet the Browns for the No.1 spot on the Top 25 cable shows during the second week of September. The Tyler Perry comedy did hold on to positions 2-5 on the chart.

As usual, TBS continued to be most watched cable network in black households, with 8.9 million tuning in to its top-rated shows. The surprise of the week came from second-place Nickelodeon, which more than doubled its number of Top 25 viewers from last week to 7 million for eight shows. ESPN placed third among the network with 2.2 million for Monday Night Football.

Nielsen recorded the total number of black viewers for the Top 25 at 27.3 million, or 3% fewer than the previous week.
