TheLoop21.com names Nsenga K. Burton Managing Editor

(September 17, 2009) TheLoop21.com, a Web site that provides in-depth analysis of economics, politics, health, education, sports and entertainment, has named Nsenga K. Burton managing editor. Dr. Burton will direct TheLoop21.com's Fall re-launch and build a strong editorial voice that offers critical analysis of issues important to the African American community. She will oversee the day-to-day management and execution of editorial initiatives and operations of the company.

Darrell L. Williams, Ph.D., owner of TheLoop21.com states: "We believe that insightful analysis of today's events begins with talented people. Nsenga has that perfect balance of professional skills and cultural awareness that will enable us to continue to deliver content to our audience that is both important and culturally relevant. Adding her leadership dramatically strengthens a very talented team."

Dr. Burton joins TheLoop21.com with over ten years of experience in journalism and new media. Most recently, she was Editorial Director for RushmoreDrive.com, an IAC Interactive Company. Her previous experience includes Arnold Communications, The Labyrinth Project and Lighthouse Strategic Group.

"I am extremely excited about being a part of TheLoop21.com team. Its dedication to truly unpacking and discussing issues that are essential to the progress of African Americans are goals that I am personally committed to. The Black community deserves high-quality editorial that provokes thought, analysis, dialogue and feedback. I am looking forward to building on the success of TheLoop21.com and contributing to the creation a unique media space where users can get fact-based opinion that adds value to the quality of their everyday lives," says Burton.

Dr. Burton has already begun building a strong editorial team signing political commentators/bloggers Keli Goff and Lenny McAllister, new media trailblazer Norman Rich, celebrity blogger Liz Burr and music journalist Carlton Hargro. Content partners include Roc4Life, The Magic Johnson Foundation, 21st Century Foundation, BlackBoxOffice.com, Creative Loafing and The Kaiser Family Foundation.
