Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of September 6 - 12
'Meet the Browns' holds on to most-watched title as fall season begins

(September 16, 2010) With the new fall TV season about to begin, TBS is holding on to its dominance among black cable viewers. The 2 1/2-hour Wednesday block of Tyler Perry comedies "Meet the Browns" and "House of Payne" continue to average around two million viewers. Younger viewers are giving the Disney channel a post-summer boost. It remains to be seen if this popularity can be carried into the fall season.

TBS was the leading cable network on the Top 25 with 9.9 million viewers. Disney was a distant second with 4.3 million for four programs. Nickelodeon notched 3.1 million watchers across four of its programs.

The total number of black viewers for the Top 25 cable shows, according to Nielsen, was 28.4 million, or 11 percent more than the previous week.
