Denise Campbell named associate publisher of Who's Who in Black Chicago

(September 9, 2008) Who's Who Publishing Company founder and CEO, Sunny Martin, has announced that Denise D. Campbell has been named associate publisher of Who's Who In Black Chicago.

Campbell, a Chicago native, has worked in sales leadership for a variety of high-profile companies, including the Chicago Defender, BET, ABC Disney, Cox Communications and the Tribune Company.

Her passion for mentoring, coaching and developing people led her to the creation of her own firm The Preferred Brand, as well as her soon-to-be published first book, "The Preferred Brand…Creating a Mirror Reflection that is Uniquely You."

Campbell holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Master of Education degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Master of Arts degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She has one son, Ryan, and a granddaughter, Ryauna.

Campbell shares, "It is with excitement and passion that I take the reigns of leadership as the new associate publisher for Who's Who In Black Chicago. Recognizing the significant contributions that African Americans make toward the greatness of Chicago, I am honored to lead the charge in providing this preeminent platform that will showcase the best of us, as reflected by the talented African Americans profiled in this incomparable reference. It is indeed an exciting time to be from Chicago, and black Chicagoans will continue to write the script that makes our city a global one that is unparalleled in its talent offerings."

Sunny Martin, agrees, "Chicago is one of finest cities in this country, and Denise Campbell will, without a doubt, do an excellent job as associate publisher, highlighting the strengths and the achievements of its African- American community."

Who's Who Publishing Company began in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1989 and currently publishes similar directories in 26 cities nationwide. The company also publishes Black Judges in America and Black Mayors in America. Upon release next year, Who's Who In Black Chicago will be available in area bookstores.
