Black TV Ratings for Week of Aug. 30 - Sept. 5 For
summer's last week, black viewers leave TV behind and head outdoors
(September 8, 2010) African-Americans took to the great out-of-home for
the week of the Labor Day holiday. Broadcast TV shows took the hit, with
only two of the Top 25 shows attracting at least a million viewers.
The most watched network title came down to who had the most popular
re-runs. CBS programs accounted for half of the Top 25 shows, for a
total of 9.7 million viewers. NBC followed with 4.6 million watching six
of its programs on the chart. ABC finished third with only 3.1 million
across four entries.
The total number of viewers watching the 25 favorite shows in black
households, as cited by Nielsen, was 20.4 million. That's a big 12
percent drop from the previous week's total.
