Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of August 23 - 29
Meet The Browns the only cable show drawing black viewers in the millions

(September 1, 2010) While other TV programs wind down with the last episodes of season re-runs, the TBS Tyler Perry comedy, Meet the Browns, continues to attract more than two million viewers every week. The Wednesday night show runs in a back-to-back, two-hour block that last week attracted a total of 7.6 million viewers.

TBS continues to be the most watched cable network in black households. The net increased its viewership of its Top 25 shows last week by 10 percent for a total of 10.1 million for six shows. TNT was second in popularity with 3.7 million for four shows, followed by the Disney network with 3.2 million watchers over four shows.

According to Nielsen, the Top 25 cable shows in black homes were viewed by 27.2 million, or an increase of three percent from the previous week.
