Cable TV Ratings for Week of August 16 - 22 TBS
comes out of the summer with growing popularity for Meet The Browns
(August 25, 2010) As summer draws to a close, and younger viewers have
less control over family view, black households are returning to their
old favorites on cable. TBS, which has always counted on Tyler Perry's
comedies to draw a margin-winning audience for the network. During the
third week of August, TBS increased its lead as most watched cable
network on the Top 25 by nine percent.
TBS pulled 9.21 million viewers for six of its shows on the chart and
retained its No.1 cable network title with black viewers. TNT claimed
3.9 million watcher for four shows, USA was the third most watched cable
network with 2.8 million tuning in three of its shows.
The Top 25 cable shows in black households were watched by 26.4 million
viewers, according to Nielsen. That's 11.4 percent more than in the
previous week.
