"TV One Night Only: Live from the Essence Music Festival" premieres Sun., Aug. 30

(August 25, 2009) TV One Night Only: Live From The Essence Music Festival, a two-hour musical extravaganza featuring the best performances from the country's largest annual gathering celebrating African-American music and culture, will premiere on TV One Sunday, August 30 at 8 PM ET, repeating at 11 PM ET.
This marks only the second time in its 15-year-history that ESSENCE has made its Festival performances available for television broadcast and the first time on cable. Hosted by actress, writer and TV host Cynthia Garrett, TV One Night Only: Live From The Essence Music Festival captures exhilarating performances from some of the biggest names in entertainment that occurred over three nights on the Festival's main stage.
Performing artists include Beyonce, Anita Baker, Robin Thicke, John Legend, Al Greene, Ne-Yo, Teena Marie, En Vogue, Charlie Wilson, Salt N Pepa, and Jazmine Sullivan.
TV One (www.tvoneonline.com) was the exclusive broadcast network of the 2009 Essence Music Festival, which featured the biggest names in entertainment and the nation's most influential speakers, artists, authors and leaders. The 2009 Essence Music Festival July 3-6 broke all attendance records, with an attendance of more than 420,000.
"ESSENCE is pleased to partner with TV One for what promises to be a very exciting and original television event pegged to the 15th Anniversary of the Essence Music Festival," said ESSENCE President Michelle Ebanks.
