Cable TV Ratings for Week of August 11 - 17
At two million viewers, 'Payne' still tops chart; USA most watched network

(August 21, 2008) Cable TV viewing among black households may be dropping now that the vacation-prone days of summer are here. Viewing habits overall, however, have not changed. Watching the summer Olympics did not grab cable viewing like it did broadcast network viewing. "House of Payne" still tops the chart of most popular cable programs, and it still attracted as many as two million viewers, according to Nielsen data.

The most popular cable network during the second week of August was USA, which had six spots on the chart. In second place was TBS and VH1 which tied at four each. BET was third with three programs.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 cable shows dropped 15 percent from the previous week to 22.3 million.
