Football edges out CSI for week’s top show; CBS and Fox share top network
honor (August
15, 2007) In one of the first signs that summer is coming to an end, Fox’s
NFL preseason match-up jumped to the No.1 spot of most popular shows in
black households during the second week in August. The game barely edged
out CSI: NY on CBS by less than 20,000 homes.
The battle between CBS and Fox ended in a tie for top network honors for
the week. Each had seven shows on the top 25 list. ABC had five winners,
while the CW and NBC both claimed three.
The total number of black households watching the top 25 shows, according
to Nielsen Media Research, was 21.7 million, or a nine percent increase
over the previous week’s total.
