Lee Moss Media
acquires more domains for planned black social networks
(August 13, 2008) Lee Moss Media, a joint venture between entrepreneurs
Dante Lee and William Moss, has recently added two more valuable domain
names to their portfolio -- BlackPhD.com and BlackDoctors.com. They will
join a network of Internet destinations the company plans to introduce
in late 2008 as social networks and online directories.
Moss is the founder of HBCUconnect.com, the largest online destination
for Black college students and alumni. Lee is the founder of Diversity
City Media, which operates BlackNews.com, BlackStudents.com, BlackPR.com,
BlackExperts.com, and BlackSpeakers.com.
While still growing their separate companies, Lee and Moss have combined
forces to jointly develop properties such as BlackHistory.com,
BlackWomenConnect.com and BlackInAmerica.com, among others.
"Our ultimate plan is to create the largest network of relevant Web
sites for African-Americans," says Lee. "We already have some of the
best online properties, and the best Web architects. So many companies
have launched different initiatives targeting African-Americans online
and have failed. We're going to show everybody the right way to do
this."
Lee Moss Media also plans to unveil shortly a new service that allows
individuals, groups, and businesses to create their own social networks.
The same technology was the basis for HBCUconnect.com to over grow to
more than1.2 million users.
Combined, both Lee and Moss own over 600 premium domains that are
Black-oriented. Their current sites are supported by advertising from
such clients as Nationwide Insurance, BET, Verizon, American Airlines,
Ford, Nissan, and others.
