Black TV Ratings for Week of August 3 - 10
NBC shows Sunday Night Football is ready to dominate Top 25 again

(August 11, 2009) If it's August, it time to think about... football? It is if you're NBC and your preseason debut of Sunday Night Football just landed in the No.1 spot with black households. The game pulled in 1.3 million black viewers to beat usual favorites, 60 Minutes, So You Think You Can Dance and America's Got Talent. [The NFL match-up between Buffalo and Tennessee was the No.10 show in white households.]

Despite the skewed viewing habits of summer television, CBS continues to firmly hold on to its loyal viewers. It remains the most watched network with 9.3 million viewers for 11 shows. NBC actual slipped from last week's total to 5.9 million, but remained in second among the networks. Fox was a very close third with 5.7 million for six shows.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 shows in black households, as cited by Nielsen, was 22.9 million, or a five percent increase over the previous week.
