Black TV Ratings for Week of Aug. 2- 8 The
return of football kicks NBC to No.1 position on the Top 25
(August 10, 2010) Summer is almost over, and as it has always done, NFL
Sunday Night Football has taken over television in black households with
pre-season action. Of the 11.4 million that tuned in to NBC to see the
Dallas Cowboys vs. the Cincinnati Bengals, 2.3 million, or 20 percent,
were black households.
CBS still held on to its title of most popular network of the week with
black viewers, with 7.8 million watching ten of its Top 25 shows. ABC
jumped up to second with six million tuning in seven of its entries on
the chart. NBC kicked Fox out of third with 4.6 million for five of its
programs.
Nielsen recorded a total of 23.5 million viewers for the Top 25 most
popular shows in black homes, which is an increase of seven percent over
the previous week.
