TV
Ratings for Week of July 28 - August 3 "America's
Got Talent" stays No.1 for second week; CBS is week's top network (August
7, 2008) NBC's "America's Got Talent" posted its third week in a row at
No.1 on the top 25 of most popular network TV programs with black
viewers. It will be interesting to see how this love of competition
programming translates to NBC's broadcast of the Olympic game next week.
CBS continued to be the most watched network among the top 25 shows with
nine of the chart for the last week of July. Fox followed with eight
shows, while NBC's five programs earned it third place.
The total number of viewers for the top 25 most popular shows, according
to Nielsen Media Research, was 26.5 million, That's a 12.8 percent
increase over the previous week's total.
[Editor's note: We've made some changes on the weekly TV and Cable
charts, beginning this week. The numbers we've previous reported as
"Rating" actually represented the share of audience for African-American
households. We've changed the label for that column of numbers to "AA
Share" and added an African-American ratings column that represents the
percentage of all African-American households watching programs at that
time period. We've also added an indication that the total number of
viewers shown is for those ages 2+.]
