Black TV Ratings for Week of July 26 - Aug. 1
CBS takes three spots on Top 25 chart of black households TV favorites

(August 3, 2010) Thanks to its two police franchises, CSI and NCIS, CBS was able to claim the No. 1, 2 and 3 spots on the Top 25 chart of most popular TV shows in black homes. Re-runs of the series were more popular than summer replacement fare like ABC's Wipeout, even when there were only three shows that had more than a million viewers.

CBS remained the most watched network in black homes, with 8.5 million tuning in 10 of its shows on the chart. Fox moved up to second in the network race with 5.4 million watching six of its shows. NBC posted 4.3 million viewers for five shows and third place.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 most popular shows in black households, as cited by Nielsen, was down four percent from the previous week to 21.8 million.
