Cable TV Ratings for Week of July 19 - 25 Disney challenges
TBS for most cable viewers during summer or re-runs (July
28, 2010) Younger black viewers are challenging their parents for the
remote control during prime time and are giving a boost in audience to
shows like Disney's Hannah Montana. Still, the usual favorite are
capturing the most viewers, and TNT's summer entry Hawthorne continues
to gain in watchers.
TBS held on to its title of most watched cable network in black homes
with 5.2 million watching four of its Top 25 shows. Disney grew by a
million and moved to second place in popularity over the previous week,
posting 4.5 million viewers for six programs. TNT ranked third in the
network race with 3.3 million for four shows.
The total number of viewers watching the Top 25 most popular cable
shows in black homes, according to Nielsen, dropped by eight percent to
22.9 million.
