Noir Media Group
to launch NOIRwoman, as a supplement in Chicago Sun-Times
(July
22, 2008) Noir Media Group LTD has developed an alliance with the
Chicago Sun-Times for monthly distribution of NOIRwoman NewsMag, an
African-American woman's lifestyle publication. Each issue will cover
everyday issues like food, romance, business, beauty, politics, and
entertainment.
Although the first issue was published in January of 2008, the official
launch and introduction will occur at the 2008 Black Woman's Expo. On
August 1 - 3, look for the NOIRwoman booth and several seminars at the
event. Expo founder Merry Green is featured on the July 18, 2008 cover.
"Teaming up with the Sun-Times gives NOIRwoman the opportunity to reach
a targeted group of readers with content inspired by those readers. The
Chicago Sun-Times group recognizes the importance of its diverse
readership and that NOIRwoman NewsMag adds a unique perspective," says
CEO/Publisher Dee Daniels. "The alliance with the Sun-Times allows
NOIRwoman to reach nearly a 500,000 readers with distribution in the
south city and south suburban zones."
"The Chicago Sun-Times is proud of our partnership with NOIRwoman. Over
the past year, NW publisher Dee Daniels has worked hard to help raise
awareness of the personal and business achievements of African-American
women. We are sure that the Black Women's Expo will expose even more
women to this relevant publication," says Dan Cahill, Sun-Times Director
of Niche Publications
Chicago, the third largest U.S. market, reflects a diverse culture and
many of the nation's most successful African-American women are based
here. To appeal to that expansive target audience, NOIRwoman lined up a
unique team of columnists and writers including legendary radio
personality La Donna Tittle, culinary expert Karen Mitchell-Wilcher,
celebrity make-up artist Tia Dantzler, actor Mel Jackson and author
Robin Collymore-Henry.
CEO/Publisher Dee Daniels background includes both radio and print
media. She began her radio career in Charleston, WV as a news reporter.
Later she returned to Chicago and worked at WJPC, owned by one of her
mentors - the late John H. Johnson. In addition Dee worked for the
Chicago Tribune City News Service and Liberty Suburban News Group as a
reporter.
