Watkins, former TV One VP, named publisher UPTOWN Magazine
(June 30, 2010) UPTOWN Magazine has hired Henry Watkins as the Publisher
of UPTOWN MEDIA GROUP where he will create integrated programs utilizing
print, online and event elements. Watkins will also oversee sales and
marketing functions for both print and digital content.
Watkins was previously VP, Sales and Partner Marketing at Voyages N.
America (Voyage.tv). There, he launched the consumer facing web platform
and was responsible for the global advertising sales team and partner
relationships with tourism boards and major resort/hotel chains and
As International Travel Director at Doubledown Media, he managed the
travel category of five U.S. based magazines, three international
editions, companion websites, worldwide events and database marketing
Watkins will maximize his longstanding relationships in the luxury
market to help grow the UPTOWN brand across multiple platforms.

Watkins’ proven track record speaks for itself. He served as Vice

at Savoy Magazine, responsible for developing and implementing overall
strategy and initiatives for the advertising and marketing divisions.
Under Watkins stewardship, Savoy secured a 42% market share of the
travel category within their competitive set while doubling the
automotive and corporate finance business.
