TV Ratings for Week of June 16 - 22
Celtics-Lakers match-up sends NBA out like a champ; CBS is top network (June
24, 2008) In ABC's airing of game six of this year's NBA Finals, the
Boston Celtics beat the L.A. Lakers and claimed their first championship
in 22 years. The competition was the No.1 show both in black and white
households. The nearly five million African-American viewers that tuned
in - just as in game five - were about a third of all viewers.
CBS maintained its title as the week's most watched network in ten shows
posted on the top 25 chart. Fox followed closely with nine, while ABC
and NBC tied for third with three each.
The total number of viewers watching the top 25 shows, according to data
from Nielsen Media Research, was 30.4 million, or 18 percent less than
last week's total.
