Memorial service announced for Pat
Tobin,
pioneering public relations professional
(June
19, 2008) A memorial celebrating the life of PR pioneer, Patricia Tobin,
will be held Friday, June 27th, 10:00 am at the Faithful Central Bible
Church, 321 N. Eucalyptus Ave. in Inglewood, Calif. 90301.
Tobin is remembered as a trailblazing entrepreneur in media, public
relations and community relations, and co-founded the National Black
Public Relations Society, first national organization of
African-American PR professionals. She died June 10th in Los
Angeles following a long struggle against cancer. She was 65.
Tobin will be honored posthumously with the Marketing to
African-Americans with Excellence (MAAX) Award as Public Relations
Executive of the Year on June 30th in Chicago.
