Black TV Ratings for Week of June 1 - 7 ABC rides
the NBA Finals to No.1 show and most watched network title
(June 9, 2009) The NBA proved potent enough give broadcast TV the same
big boost it gave to cable. Of the 14 million viewers for the second NBA
Finals game between the L.A. Lakers and the Orlando Magic, 4.7 million
black viewers made it their favorite program of the week. The first game
scored No.2 on the Top 25 chart with 4.6 million.
ABC took the week's most watched network title with 12.3 million viewers
for just four NBA-related shows. CBS dropped back to a rare second in
the network title race with 10.8 million. The two-part interview with
President Obama at the White House and its repeats airings helped make
NBC the week's third most watched network.
The total number of viewers for the Top 25 most popular shows in black
households, according to Nielsen, was 35.4 million. That's a whopping 46
