Black TV Ratings for Week of June 1 - 7
ABC rides the NBA Finals to No.1 show and most watched network title

(June 9, 2009) The NBA proved potent enough give broadcast TV the same big boost it gave to cable. Of the 14 million viewers for the second NBA Finals game between the L.A. Lakers and the Orlando Magic, 4.7 million black viewers made it their favorite program of the week. The first game scored No.2 on the Top 25 chart with 4.6 million.

ABC took the week's most watched network title with 12.3 million viewers for just four NBA-related shows. CBS dropped back to a rare second in the network title race with 10.8 million. The two-part interview with President Obama at the White House and its repeats airings helped make NBC the week's third most watched network.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 most popular shows in black households, according to Nielsen, was 35.4 million. That's a whopping 46 percent increase over last week's total.
