TV
Ratings for Week of May 26 - June 1 Fox hangs on
to No.1 even with 'Idol' gone; CBS's top 25 dominance grows
(June 4,
2008) Even with its cash cow "American Idol" done for the season, Fox
managed to take the No.1 spot on the top 25 shows in black households.
While it posted less than two million viewers, "So You Think You Can
Dance" gave Fox two entries in the top five. The network also had the
number two spot with "Hell's Kitchen."
As television's repeat season begins, CBS strengthened its hold over the
chart by posting 14 programs on the top 25. Second place for most watched
network of the week went to Fox, which had three. ABC posted three shows,
and NBC had two.
The total number of viewers for the top 25 shows during the last week of
May, according to Nielsen, was 24.4 million. That represents a drop of a
third of the audience from the previous week's total.
