Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of May 24 - 30
Six-game NBA Conference finals series captures less audience than year ago

(June 3, 2010) The NBA Playoffs conference semi finals were the most popular cable offerings for black households for the last week of May, but black viewership for the L.A. - Phoenix and Boston - Orlando games were down about 5 percent from last yearís ratings. Both conferences had six-games series, with the final battle between the Lakers and Suns taking the No.1 spot.

With the most NBA games on its schedule, TNT handily won the title of most watched cable network for the week. It had 12 million viewers for six of its programs on the Top 25. TBSís Tyler Perry comedies beat out two of the NBA games to take second place among networks with 9 million viewers for 7 shows. ESPN had 8.2 million for 3 NBA-related programs.

The total number of viewers tuning in the Top 25 most popular shows in black households, according to Nielsen, was37.9 million. Thatís 4.1 percent more than the previous week.
