TV Ratings for Week of May 19 - 25
Final 'American Idol' pulls season's biggest audience; CBS again top network

(May 28, 2008) For its farewell broadcast, Fox's juggernaut show, "American Idol," had its biggest black audience of the season at 2.8 million viewers. The series' Tuesday show didn't do nearly as well and landed in fourth place.  

The week's overwhelming winner for most watched network was CBS. It posted 10 shows on the top 25 chart. ABC and Fox tied for second with six each, and NBC claimed three.

The total number of black viewers watching the top 25 shows, according to Nielsen, was statistically identical to last week at 36.2.million.
