The honorees for the fourth annual MAAX Awards will be saluted on June
30, 2009 at an awards dinner during the Tenth Annual Marketing to
African Americans with Excellence (MAAX) Summit. The event hosted by
Target Market News at the Chicago Wyndham Hotel, is the nation's largest
annual gathering of African-American marketing, media and research
professionals.
"Given the extraordinary state of the nation's economy, it is especially
important to give recognition to African American professionals for the
outstanding work they have performed in these difficult circumstances,"
said Target Market News president and publisher, Ken Smikle. "Their
dedication to excellence has been an asset to all African-Americans, and
we invite the entire marketing and media industry to join us in
celebrating our honorees' unique accomplishments."
The honorees were selected by the editors, writers and contributors of
Target Market News. Candidates were considered for recognition on the
basis of being African-American executives with distinctive careers, and
for having endeavored to promote greater understanding of, growth of,
