Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of May 10 - 16
NBA Playoffs ratings drop in second round as teams overwhelm opponents

(May 19, 2010) The NBA Playoffs continued to hold black audiences in rapt attention, even as favorite teams got swept into an early summer vacation. While the number did drop slightly, ratings and total audience for the games more or less matched their performance from a year ago. TBS' House of Payne did break up a complete sweep of the top five spots on the chart.

TNT repeated as the week's most watched cable network, with 8.1 million tuning in four games. TBS drew 7.5 million for five of its Tyler Perry comedies. BET had a strong third place finish with 7.3 million for seven of its shows.

The total number of viewers watching the Top 25 favorite shows in black households, according to Nielsen, was virtually the same as last week at 34.5 million.
