Black TV Ratings for Week of May 10 - 16
ABC hangs on to lead created by NBA Playoffs to trump Fox in black homes

(May 18, 2010) Even though it didn't have the benefit of an NBA Playoff game to boost its overall numbers, ABC managed to hang on to enough of the black audience it has gained these past weeks to take second place among the networks. It also had something that Fox didn't have -- a show in the top three of the week's Top 25. Once again, American Idol failed to make the cut.

Led by its first No.1 finish for NCIS: Los Angeles, CBS returned to being the most watched network in black households. It had 12.2 million viewers for nine of its shows on the chart. ABC dropped one million viewers from last week to finish second with 10.5 million for eight of its programs. Fox stayed about the same with seven million watchers for five shows.

Nielsen recorded a total of 33.1 million viewers for the Top 25 favorites among black viewers, for an increase of four percent over the previous week.
