TV One adds households to extend base to nearly 38 million households

(May 4, 2007 - TV One has added more than four million new subscriber households this year, growing from 33.8 million in December 2006 to more than 37.9 million in May 2007, according to Nielsen Media Research estimates. New launches this year include Bright House Networks in Indianapolis, Time Warner Cable of Northeastern Ohio (Akron), and Comcast systems in Minneapolis and West Palm Beach, plus a move from digital to expanded basic on the Comcast system in Shreveport, LA.

The three-year-old network for African American adults now also offers a selection of programming on the VOD platform of systems serving more than 20 million households, including Comcast, Time Warner, Cox and Insight cable systems. TV One will also launch a package of programming this month on Buckeye Cable of Ohio’s VOD platform.

TV One also continues to add local ad sales launches, with 21 systems serving more than 9 million households now selling time on TV One. New local ad sales launches this year include Comcast systems in Miami, FL and Augusta, GA.

“TV One’s growth in three years has been incredible on all fronts, and we truly appreciate our cable partners’ positive response and support for the network,” said TV One Executive Vice President of Affiliate Sales and Marketing Brad Samuels. “We are making great efforts to earn that support by creating strong and unique marketing opportunities, like we recently did with our 30th anniversary telecast of Roots, that can help our partners connect with their adult African American customer base.”

Launched in January 2004, TV One ( www.tvoneonline.com ) serves more than 37.9 million households (Nielsen May 2007 estimate), offering a broad range of lifestyle and entertainment-oriented original programming, classic series, movies, fashion and music designed to entertain, inform and inspire a diverse audience of adult African American viewers.  TV One’s investors include Radio One [NASDAQ: ROIA and ROIAK; www.radio-one.com ], the largest radio company that primarily targets African American and urban listeners;  Comcast Corporation [NASDAQ: CMCSA and CMCSK; www.comcast.com ], the leading cable television company in the country; The DirecTV Group; Constellation Ventures; Syndicated Communications; and Opportunity Capital Partners.
