The Week of April 23 – 29
'College Hill' keeps BET on top of cable chart; NBA gives TNT a network win

(May 2, 2007) After taking the top spot for the first time last week, BET’s “College Hill” again claimed No. 1 among the nation’s 25 most popular cable shows in black households. With nearly 1.5 million homes, it put a lot of distance between the No. 2 contender, TNT’s late Tuesday NBA playoff game.

Basketball did make TNT the runaway winning network for the fourth week of April, with seven entries on the chart. There was a three-way tie for second most-watched network between BET, Disney and ESPN, each of which claimed four shows.

The total number of black households watching the top 25 cable shows, according to Nielsen data, was 18.5 million. That’s a 10.8 percent increase over the previous week’s viewing.
