Kroger creates new
position to lead multicultural business development
(April 25, 2008) The Kroger Co. announced today it has named Angel Colon to lead multi-cultural business development for the Company. In his new position, Mr. Colon will be responsible for enhancing Kroger's approach to serving its diverse customer base. "At Kroger, we strive to connect better with our broad range of customers every day, in every store. In his new role, Angel will help us improve our efforts in this important area as we develop even better ways to tailor products and services for our customers," said Donald Becker, Executive Vice President of Merchandising for Kroger. Mr. Colon brings 16 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods industry to his new position with Kroger. He previously held leadership positions in sales and ethnic marketing for Goya Foods and The Kellogg Company. While at Kellogg, Mr. Colon played a key role on the company's ethnic marketing team and led its Hispanic and African American promotion efforts. He holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing from Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Ill. and a master's degree in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University in Madison, Wis.
