TV Ratings for Week of April 14 - 20
'Idol' jumps back on top; Presidential debate leads ABC's network win

(April 22, 2008) After two weeks of being bounced out of the No.1 spot by NCAA basketball, Fox's "American Idol" returned to its usual position at the head of the top 25 most popular shows of the week. The Democratic presidential debate took third place, with nearly two million black viewers tuning in [The ABC News Special was No. 13 in white households].

The debates gave ABC the momentum to be the most watched network of the week with seven programs on the chart. CBS and Fox tied for second place among the networks with six each.

The total number of black viewers watching the top 25 shows, according to Nielsen Media Research, was 33.4 million, or five percent fewer than the previous week.
