Cable TV Ratings for Week of April 7-13
TBS keeps bringing the 'Payne;' while BET, TBS tie for most-watched network

(April 16, 2008) In black households, the most-watched cable program -- indeed, one of the most popular TV shows, period -- continues to be TBS' Tyler Perry's "House of Payne." The sitcom has been at the top of the 25 most popular cable shows for weeks, and is drawing audiences that rival "American Idol." VH1's "Flavor of Love" followed behind "Payne" in the number three position.

BET and TBS tied for the honors of being the week's most watched network. Each had six programs on the chart. Nickelodeon was second with four, followed by ESPN which claimed three.

The total number of black viewers watching the top 25 for the first week of April, according to Nielsen Media Research, was 27.8 million. That represents a 12 percent increase over the previous week.
