'LisaRaye:
The Real McCoy' debuts as TV One's highest rated original show
(April 13,
2010) LisaRaye: The Real McCoy, which premiered on TV One Thursday,
April 8 with two back-to-back episodes from 9-10 PM, repeating from
midnight - 1 AM, reached nearly 1.6 million viewers over the four
telecasts. The two premiere night episodes are now the network's top two
highest-rated original programs.
The 9:30 PM episode of LisaRaye: The Real McCoy ("LisaRaye: Date
Police") garnered a 1.2 household rating, delivering 608,000 households,
making it the network's highest-rated and most-viewed original program.
The premiere episode telecast at 9 PM ("LisaRaye Gets Back to Business")
captured a 1.0 rating and delivered 514,000 households, making it TV
One's second-highest rated and second most-viewed original program.
Among African American households, the 9:30 PM episode posted a 7.8
rating, and the 9 PM premiere telecast posted a 6.3 rating.
LisaRaye: The Real McCoy follows the beautiful, outspoken star of film
and television and former First Lady of the Turks and Caicos on her
unvarnished journey as she moves back to Hollywood and seeks to fully
re-establish her critically acclaimed acting career, while balancing a
far-flung and complex personal life.
"We felt from the beginning that LisaRaye's amazing life story, coupled
with her unusual candor, style, beauty and determination, was something
that would resonate with our audience, and we're delighted that we were
proved right," said Toni Judkins, TV One Senior Vice President of
